Got to a meeting last night. Only got a little lost on the way. I was on-time none the less. We had a small meeting. Just two young ladies and me. Topic was Step 11 and we read three selections from Lifeline followed by about 5 minutes of meditation. There was a very loud clock [...]

Trust: The right of decision, based on trust, makes effective leadership possible. How important is trust and how hard was it for me to extend this to others or even myself? When I was in my disease, I didn’t trust myself to make good choices and I didn’t trust you to do what you said [...]

I use Google for lots of stuff including my iGoogle home page. That page includes daily WikiHow articles. Today, they had an article I wish I’d seen some years ago: How to Know Your’re Hungry (and Avoid Eating When You’re Not). I particularly enjoyed this tip: Are you really hungry or just bored? At times, [...]

As previously reported, I think, I’m in the UK for work. Arrived bright and early yesterday morning. Flight was even a bit early. Crowded but pleasant flight. No in-seat video as I’ve become accustomed to, so I read. I’m truly enjoying A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, author also of The Kite Runner. You [...]

If you haven’t heard about it, have a look at this NY Times review: …Matthew Bonifacio, stars as Neil, a young, 300-pound New York man who has an epiphany about his weight and flees upstate to get away from his mother’s gravy (the Italian, tomato-based variety). Popcorn anyone?

You decide: I headed into Big City to pick up my completed passport. I had planned to park at the local train station and hop on the train. No free spaces. None. So, I headed in toward Big City and parked closer to town. Caught a train, got my passport, stopped at Whole Foods for [...]

So, Tuesday was a good day. Most days are good but you already know that. I’d been looking forward to this Tuesday evening for a few weeks. This was the Tuesday I planned to audition for part in a local play. I prepared by reading For Today, out loud and with more of a dramatic [...]
