Well, I wanted this blog to capture the funny side of being a compulsive eater but it hasn’t really worked out that way. I do try to find funny things, but if my goal was to write each time with the prime focus being humor, I missed that mark. I can live with that.
I’m writing to improve my writing. If you’re reading any of this, you are suffering through this process. As you’ve not been forced here, I feel no regrets. Your comments are welcome. I write things that reflect me at the time of the writing. Me changes so any contradictions are to be par for this course.
I planned to write once a week but it’s been suggested by one PIA that I write more often. So, I’ve been writing more often. I always have a bunch of drafts in the wings but mostly they sit there waiting for more attention while I work on whatever is currentl.
From time to time, I may edit a prior post, if something strikes me as being necessary to make it gel, or something is spelled wrong.
A little about me: I came to Overeaters Anonymous at 306 pounds and today, month in and month out, average 170. As of February, 2009,
- I’m, working Step 6 or 7 with a sponsor. I’m not really sure which it is. I’m pretty sure we’re not still on 5.
- I sponsor.
- I have a home meeting and attend, typically, 3 meetings a week.
- I have a food plan (mine is weighed and measured. You do what works for you please).
- I make, most days, 3 or more OA phone calls.
- I don’t read a lot. Not daily. But sometimes.
- I write for my Step work and OA service.
- I protect anonymity.
- I’m an OA service junkie and do service at the Member, Group, Intergroup, Region and World Service level.
I’ll post an e-mail address here eventually (as soon as I install the spam-preventing WordPress plugin).
Final word. Don’t eat. It ain’t worth it.
Steve
P.S. As an Overeaters Anonymous member, I plan to remain publicly anonymous. No pictures of me and no last names. Even the blog URL is protected by a private registration.
